In these late summer, early fall days when it hasn’t rained for months, this old verse often sings in my mind:
O western wind when wilt thou blow
That the small rain down can rain?
Christ that my love were in my arms
And I in my bed again.
Yesterday, we had a few tantalizing drops, but no rain.
The Limeliters put a nice version of this little quatrain to music back in the 60s, with Glenn Yarbrough on lead vocal. Available on Youtube.
So cool. Thanks, Larry.
